Environment

At Vantaa Energy, the production and transfer of energy is carried out with as little stress on the environment as possible. The company is the first energy company in Finland to be awarded certification for compliance with the SFS-EN ISO 14001 environmental standard. The certification covers all operations and locations. The certified environmental system enables maintaining and long-term development of the level of environmental protection.

Vantaa Energy is also involved in developing production methods that use renewable energy sources. The biogas facility constructed at the Seutula dumpsite came on-line in 1993. We are also a partner in the Meri-Pori Efficient Wind® farm built in 1999 to generate wind energy.

Vantaa Energy social responsibility policy

Vantaa Energy in this context shall mean the parent company Vantaa Energy Ltd and its subsidiary Vantaa Energy Electricity Networks Ltd.

Vantaa Energy undertakes to comply with legislation and the environmental regulations pertaining to its operation, as well as its commitments. We shall accept our responsibility by taking into consideration the economic, social and environmental aspects in our decision-making. We have identified the most important impacts of our operation both on the environment and society. Through continuous improvement of our activities, we undertake to reduce the environmental impacts and to fulfil the expectations of our stakeholders.

Responsibility for the environment and improvements in our energy efficiency are the principal points of departure in our environmental liability.
