Electricity distribution prices in Vantaa will fall on 1 June 2011

Electricity distribution prices in Vantaa will fall by an average of 6% as of 1 June 2011. In a typical apartment, the amount of the electricity distribution bill will fall by an average of EUR 0.6 per month and in a detached house with oil or district heating it will fall by an average of EUR 1.4. Correspondingly, the bill of a detached house with electric heating will fall by approx. EUR 5.5 per month. The change is based on the faster-than-predicted growth of the distribution amount in the electricity distribution network and a fall in capital costs.
Vantaa Energy Electricity Network Ltd is responsible for electricity distribution in Vantaa. The company takes care of the condition of Vantaa’s electricity distribution network and the quality of electricity delivered to the customers. The operation of the electricity network company is supervised by the customers, owners of the company and the Energy Market Authority, which also assesses the reasonableness of pricing.
