Smart electricity meter – better information about energy consumption
Vantaa Energy will replace all of the electricity meters in its network area with new, smart electricity meters by the end of 2012.

A smart electricity meter gathers information about the quality of electricity and power cuts. With this information it is possible to monitor the status of the system with more accuracy and to carry out repairs and improvements even weeks before the actual faults arise.
Hourly metering enables development of new services and products, for example, hourly-based electricity products, by the electricity vendors.
The time-of-day electricity connection times are changing
